Under the joint initiative of Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Jio, Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Bindal has set a new benchmark in the field of education by becoming the first school in Uttarakhand where 100 students were awarded Artificial Intelligence (AI) certification at the same time. The students achieved this milestone after successfully completing the course, bringing recognition and pride to both the school and the students. These certificates have been issued by Reliance Jio.
Shri Guru Ram Rai University has launched this initiative with the aim of first making school students, and then higher-education students, AI-enabled. The university’s objective is to ensure that students studying in all educational institutions under the SGRR Group become familiar with AI techniques and gain a clear understanding of artificial intelligence technologies. The Hon’ble President of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, congratulated all the students and teachers on this achievement.
Under this AI training program, more than 500 students of SGRR Public School, Bindal branch have already been registered. The training is being imparted by experienced AI professionals from Jio University. While the market cost of this course is approximately ₹15,000, Reliance Jio Infocomm is providing the course completely free of cost to students. Upon completion of the training, the school will also be awarded the certificate of an “AI-Ready School.”
As part of the program, Google Gemini AI is also providing free AI training to the school’s students and teachers. Additionally, Reliance Jio Infocomm is offering the Google Gemini AI tool free of cost for 18 months to every Jio customer, the market value of which is stated to be around ₹35,100.
The role of the Principal of SGRR Public School, Mrs. Garima Sharma, was extremely significant in making this entire program a success. On the very first day of the training, she connected more than 40 teachers to this AI training program, enabling educators as well to become familiar with modern technology and guide students more effectively.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Jio Infocomm, Mr. Mukesh Ambani, envisions making every school in the country AI-enabled and preparing students for the future. This campaign has been launched in line with that vision.
Reliance Jio Infocomm’s Uttarakhand General Manager, Mr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, informed that the initiative was launched in December, and so far around 10,000 schools have been connected to this campaign. The goal is to extend this AI training program to every school across the country in the coming times.
This is a four-week AI training program conducted in the school’s laboratory, with students also able to take online quizzes from home. Students from classes 6 to 12 can participate in this training. This initiative by SGRR Public School, Bindal is being regarded as an important and inspiring step toward the future of education, not only for Dehradun but for the entire state of Uttarakhand.
